A church should feel like a family. It shouldn't feel like an event to attend, but a place to belong. That's why DISCOVERING SOUTH ROCK is important – because we weren't meant to go through life alone. When it comes to finding your purpose, using your God-given gifts to serve, and surrounding yourself with community, we're giving you a deliberate path to follow. It's a path that won't confuse you or leave you in the dark.
Discovering South Rock is structured in a 101, 201, 301, 401 format. Four weeks taking us through those four classes. But it is much more than just another class.
So don't think of DISCOVERING SOUTH ROCK as just another class. Think of it as a way to find your purpose and your people and how you are connected to the history and future of South Rock, because there's more for you at South Rock than just attending a weekend service. God’s love is so much bigger than that because you MATTER!

What We Believe
Why Baptism Through Immersion
One of the most common questions that we get asked at SOUTHROCK Christian Church is this one - "Why Immersion?" Perhaps you have visited our church, and you've seen that area on the right side of the stage, "what kind of a hot-tub is that, and what is it for?" Maybe you grew up in a church that baptized infants, or haven't had a Christian background and are wondering why we feel a person needs to be immersed.
First of all, let me assure you that you are not alone in our congregation. Many of our people grew up as Catholics, and many in denominational backgrounds that do not immerse. And I also want to assure you that we don't believe baptism to be any more or less important than any of the other steps in accepting God's grace (ie. faith, repentance, confession, belief). We also do not believe that there is anything special in the water. It is plain Derby water. The purpose of baptism is symbolic and supernatural.
