Student Ministry

Our ultimate mission of Impact Student Ministries is to "Develop Devoted Disciples." We desire to make an IMPACT in the lives of 6th-12th graders that lasts far beyond their time in the youth group. We experience tons of fun and excitement as we live in the presence of God. With purposeful programming and servant-hearted youth coaches, we aim to help God's love become real in the lives of our students so they can IMPACT the world around them. If you have any further questions you can contact Andy Jones.

In Tune

Specifically designed to "Develop Your Relationship with God."  During these meetings, students will be given the opportunity to discuss the Sunday morning sermon and have their own quiet time with God.  Students are also given material to guide them in devotion times throughout the week.  In Tune helps empower students to read and understand God's Word!

Impact

At Impact, our desire is for students to "Discover God's Love."  Impact is our large youth group setting that meets in the PowerHouse and  combines fellowship, fun, worship, and Biblical teaching.  Whether a student has grown up in the church, or this would be their first church experience, Impact has something for everyone!

Middle School Impact

Wednesday 6:00-7:30pm - Powerhouse - 302 N. Georgie Ave.

High School Impact

Sunday 7:00-8:30pm - Powerhouse - 302 N. Georgie Ave.

Small Groups

These groups meet with the purpose of "Deepening Relationships" with students, youth coaches, and with God.  A small group is made up of 5-10 people who meet each week to pray, study God's word, hold each other accountable, and do life together.  Because small groups are intended to create community and depth, being part of one requires a commitment to the group.  Students who are interested in joining a small group, for either Middle School or High School age should talk to Andy to find out how to get plugged in.

Youth Coach

Are you interested in working with pre-teens or teenagers?  Do you love playing dodgeball or staying up for lock-ins?  Would you love to pass along wisdom that you have learned from your lifetime to those who could use it?  And most importantly, would you like to be an instrument God uses to change the lives of students?

If so, we would love for you to consider joining our Student Ministry Team.  We have seen God do amazing things in the lives of students!  And while we get to build relationships with some awesome students, God does some pretty amazing things in our lives as well.  We all learn together as we strive to make an IMPACT for the Kingdom of God.

Most of our volunteer positions include teaching small groups.  Sometimes that is the entire lesson, but most of the time it is facilitating groups based on lessons taught by the main teacher (most often the Student Minister).  We also use people who love to cook, know technology, are musical, or who are willing to do odd jobs but would prefer not to teach.

If you are interested in volunteering in the Student Ministry as a Youth Coach, please feel free to email Andy any questions at andyj@southrockchristian.com or call him at 316.788.5503.

Completing the Volunteer Information Packet (which includes a background check) can get you started in the process of becoming a Youth Coach.

Parent Resources

While we believe in using every resource available to reaching every Middle School and High School student possible with the good news of Jesus Christ, I am also very aware that I am "Just the Youth Minister".

With that, we believe that Parents have the primary responsibility in raising and "training your child  in how he/she will go". Because of this, we are working to make sure we are equipping parents with every possible resource to JOIN ALONG SIDE in the good work that we have been called to with our students.

One way to help is through clear communication.  Twice a month, I send out emails to parents that tell what we are studying during our IMPACT times, what events are coming up, and any parenting resources he has come across.  To get on this list, just email me at andyj@southrockchristian.com and tell me you want on the list.
